Stocks tumble as Goldman Sachs charged with civil fraud
Financial shares led the stock market sharply lower Friday after federal regulators filed civil fraud charges against Goldman Sachs over its dealings in subprime mortgages.
Stocks were already lower before news of the Securities and Exchange Commission's charges against the leading investment bank. Investors were disappointed after Google reported earnings that didn't live up to forecasts.
The Dow Jones industrial average lost about 125 points, having been down as much as 170.
About five stocks fell for every one that rose on the New York Stock Exchange, where consolidated volume came to 8.1 billion shares, compared with 6 billion shares Thursday.
Investors looked past economic news. The Commerce Department said housing construction rose to a 16-month high in March. However, construction of single-family homes, the most important segment of the market, fell.
The Chicago Board Options Exchange's Volatility Index, which measures how much disruption investors expect in the market, spiked 15 percent to its highest level in a month after the Goldman news came out.
For the Dow Jones industrial average closed up 21.31, or 0.2 percent, at 11,018.66. The Standard & Poor's 500 index lost 2.24, or 0.2 percent, to 1,192.13. The Nasdaq composite index is up 27.21, or 1.1 percent, at 2,481.26. The Russell 2000 index, which tracks the performance of small company stocks, rose 11.67, or 1.7 percent, to 714.62.
Oil prices retreated Friday as fraud charges against Goldman Sachs shook the markets and concerns about the Greek bailout plan sent the dollar higher against the euro. Crude oil for May delivery plummeted, dropping $2.27, or nearly 3%, to settle at $83.24 a barrel.
Copper fell the most seven weeks after regulators accused Goldman Sachs Group Inc. of fraud and as a rising US dollar cut demand for the metal as a hedge against inflation.
Comex gold futures closed solidly lower, nearer the session low and closed at a near-term technically bearish weekly low close on Friday. News that Goldman Sachs and another major Wall Street player have been charged by the SEC with fraud put commodity futures markets, especially gold, into a tailspin. June Comex gold closed down $23.40 an ounce at $1,136.90.

JAGUAR MINERALS
North Darlot (WA) - VTEM Results
SURVEY RESULTS
Jaguar is pleased to present the recent results from the airborne Versatile Time- Domain Electromagnetic (VTEM) survey completed at North Darlot (WA). Targeting base metal mineralisation a total of 502 line kilometres of VTEM data was collected.
From the final corrected geophysical data a number of possible bedrock related VTEM anomalies have been outlined. A total of 5 high priority and 10 lower priority anomalies have been defined.
The priority anomalies were assessed according to their potential to be sourced by metal sulphides. Geological ranking criteria included prospectivity of the lithological units covered by the anomaly, whether the geophysical anomaly was coincident or near gravity, geochemical or magnetic anomalism, and if there had been previous drilling in the vicinity and whether that historical drilling had intersected any anomalous base metal geochemistry. Table 1 ranks the top 5 high priority anomalies based on this criteria.
Figure 1 summarises the anomalies defined from the VTEM imagery. High priority anomalies are outlined in pink while lower priority anomalies are outlined in yellow. The red outline defines the extent of conductive overburden/cover/drainage patterns within the VTEM survey area. This area has been classed as not effectively tested by the VTEM as the current does not appear to have penetrated the conductive overburden layer..... - Web Site

ICON DRILLING UPDATE - 16 APRIL 2010: ADDITIONAL WELL ADDED TO CURRENT PROGRAM
1. Lydia No. 7 has strong indications of high gas saturation with cores ‘bleeding’ gas
Lydia No. 7, the fourth evaluation well of the Lydia block in the current drilling program,
commenced drilling or ‘spudded’ on Friday 2 April 2010. Drilling has been completed with the rig
now moving to Jack No. 1.
This well was cored to test gas content and indications of permeability. Bubbling gas from one of
the cores already provides qualitative evidence of both permeability and high gas saturation.
Indeed all coals cored so far from the well have displayed ‘bleeding’ gas which strongly indicates
high gas saturations in the coal. These cores have been sent to the laboratory for analysis.
This well has provided one of the most successful drill stem tests (DST). The DSTs were run to
evaluate the permeability and other reservoir parameters of the coal at this location. The results of
this well once again confirm the value of the seismic data obtained from our recent seismic
program.
The completion of this well represents the completion of the first stage of the Stanwell Farmin.
Data analysis will continue over the next two months. When the absorption and desorption results
are finalised, a comprehensive report on the Lydia Pilot program (Lydia No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4) and
the four stratigraphic wells (Lydia No. 6, No. 7, No. 8, and No. 9) will be used to assess the
commerciality of the resources in ATP 626P.
2. Icon Energy Board expands current drilling program to include additional well Jack No. 1
The Board of Icon Energy Limited (ICN) has committed to an opportunity to extend the current
drilling operation in ATP 626P in southern Queensland with an additional well, Jack No. 1.
Seismic reflectivity analysis, based on the seismic data shot by Terrex Seismic for Icon last October,
provides an informative mapping of the subsurface formations suggesting this to be a high potential
location. The application of the data to other locations, including that of Lydia No. 9 and Lydia No. 8
in particular, has already proven how valuable the data has been so far.
An additional purpose of the exploration program is to confirm the coal locations originally
identified in 2008 in the diagram below. .....

ANDEAN RESOURCES
Extends Three High-Grade Vein Systems
Andean Resources (ASX/TSX: AND) is pleased to announce results from the ongoing exploration program at its wholly owned Cerro Negro Project in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. Discovery of the San Marcos, Mariana Norte, and Mariana Central vein systems located 4 to 6 kilometers northeast of the Eureka deposit has lead to a focused drill program that is defining the shape and extent of these potential ore bodies.
Highlights include:
San Marcos – Confirming and extending mineralization along strike by 100 meters
SDD-1004: 12.4m of 16.5 g/t Au and 131 g/t Ag from 143.6m
SDD-1005: 6.4m of 10.7 g/t Au and 144 g/t Ag from 142.7m
SDD-1007: 3.65m of 12.2 g/t Au and 52 g/t Ag from 108m
SDD-1008: 11.45m of 15.2 g/t Au and 136 g/t Ag from103.55m
SDD-1009: 8.3m of 9.6 g/t Au and 76 g/t Ag from 250m
SDD-1010: 8.9m of 24.5 g/t Au and 292 g/t Ag from 121m and 5.3m of 12.8 g/t Au and 80 g/t Ag from 141.7m
SDD-1012: 6.4m of 19.8 g/t Au and >100 g/t Ag from 226.9m and 12.3m of 15.6 g/t Au and 100 g/t Ag from 256.7m
Holes SDD-1010 and SDD-1012 extended the mineralization in the San Marcos veins a further 100 meters to the east and could have intersected the veins at a shallower angle due to a potential change in the vein dip. The change in strike and dip are currently being confirmed by additional drilling. San Marcos remains open to the east and at depth.
Mariana Norte – New assays confirm mineralized strike length of at least 300 meters
MDD-1011: 9.0m of 15.8 g/t Au and 72 g/t Ag from 163.4m
MDD-1013: 3.0m of 9.5 g/t Au and 89 g/t Ag from 184.0m
MDD-1015: 8.4m of 22.7 g/t Au and 57 g/t Ag from 173.6m
MDD-1018: 13.9m of 16.2 g/t Au and 176 g/t Ag from 76.0m
Further drilling has extended these veins an additional 100 meters to the northwest; this vein system remains open along strike and to depth.
Mariana Central – Downdip extension of 110 meters
MDD-1009: 5.9m of 55.5 g/t Au and 199 g/t Ag from 207.3m
Further drilling has extended this vein system an additional 225 meters; assays are pending and the vein remains open to depth and along strike.

Stocks edge higher on mixed reports, UPS outlook
An encouraging earnings forecast from UPS and stronger manufacturing figures gave the stock market its sixth straight advance.
The gains Thursday were modest following a surprise increase in the number of newly laid off people seeking unemployment benefits. The Labor Department reported that initial claims for unemployment benefits rose unexpectedly for a second straight week. First-time claims for jobless benefits rose by 24,000 to 484,000 last week, the highest level since late February.
Falling stocks narrowly outnumbered those that rose on the New York Stock Exchange, where volume came to 1.2 billion shares, compared with 1.1 billion Wednesday.
Crude oil eased 33 cents to $85.51 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Copper dipped on Thursday weighed by a stronger U.S. dollar and concerns China might move to tighten monetary policy to head off possible overheating in its economy after robust growth data.
Comex gold futures closed slightly higher and near the session high Thursday, after prices were under profit-taking selling pressure early on. Once again, bargain-hunting buying surfaced on price weakness to bring gold prices up from the session low. June Comex gold closed up $0.70 an ounce at $1,160.30.

ARC EXPLORATION
DRILLING EXTENDS STRIKE OF WEST SENTUL VEIN AT TRENGGALEK
Arc Exploration Limited (ASX Code: ARX) is pleased to announce further results from its scout drilling programme at Trenggalek in East Java.
On 12 and 29 March 2010, ARX announced encouraging gold results from its first five holes TRDD 1- 5 drilled at Trenggalek. Since that time, results have been received for the latest 3 holes (TRDD 6, 7 and 8) completed along the southern portion of the West Sentul Vein.
Holes TRDD 6 and 7 were drilled on a section 100 metres to the northeast of the section containing holes TRDD 2, 4 and 5, and hole TRDD 8 was drilled 200 metres to the northeast.
TRDD 6 returned two separate intersections of 2.6 m at 4.3 g/t Au & 7 g/t Ag and 1.95 m at 5.32 g/t Au & 7 g/t Ag within an 11.95 m intersection of 2.12 g/t Au & 5 g/t Ag from 37.45 m down-hole.
TRDD 7 returned two separate intersections of 6 m at 1.19 g/t Au & 7 g/t Ag and 6.9 m at 1.63 g/t Au & 9 g/t Ag within a 34.5 m intersection of 0.69 g/t Au & 4 g/t Ag from 75.5 m down-hole.
TRDD 8 returned a narrow intersection of 4 m at 1.29 g/t Au & 4 g/t Ag from 99.1 m down-hole.
The true width of the vein on section TRDD 6/7 is about 7-8 metres, slightly wider than on the section 100 m to the southwest. To the northeast, the vein splits into several narrow veins in hole TRDD 8. The lower gold grades in holes TRDD 6, 7 and 8 are explained by lower sulphide content and a greater volume of barren carbonate within the vein. These holes differ from the previous holes by the presence of limestone and lack of an andesite intrusion.
These holes confirm extensions of the strike of the mineralised vein system for 200 metres to the northwest but at present, potential for high-grade ore shoots appears to be greater at the southern end of West Sentul where surface vein outcrops and drill intersections have returned the widest and highest grade gold intersections to date. To the southwest, strike and down plunge extent of the mineralised vein remains open.
Drilling continues to test the vein targets at Sentul and a second rig is being mobilised to accelerate progress and commence testing of other prospects within Trenggalek so that they can be ranked for follow-up drilling.
Total reported meterage to-date is 924 metres, or just over 18% of the 5,000 metre programme to be conducted this year.
----------
Quarterly Activities Report - March 2010 Quarter - Highlights:
- The Company commenced a 5,000 m scout diamond drilling program on the Trenggalek Project in East Java. A total of 547 metres was drilled in five inclined holes on Sentul Prospect during the quarter. Highly encouraging results were returned from the first five scout holes, including:
2 m at 17.2 g/t Au & 13 g/t Ag within 9.65 m at 4.51 g/t Au & 8 g/t Ag intersected from 111.35 m down-hole in TRDD004.
- The Company commenced a detailed surface geochemical survey of the Kowo Prospect on the Bima project in East Sumbawa.
- Further work by Anglo American on the Aisasjur Project in West Papua in 2010 is pending the transfer of the KP's to IUP's.

Ramelius Resources Joint Venture
This morning the Company announced that it has secured a $7 million joint venture with Ramelius Resources to explore our highly prospective Mount Windsor Volcanics Project in Northern Queensland.
The joint venture will enable exploration to commence immediately in what should be an exciting period for the Company.
Resolute Mining has recently reported details of a high grade discovery at its Ravenswood Gold Project which is in the same geological setting as Liontown's Mount Windsor Project (note Liontown has no interest in the Ravenswood Gold Project).
The discovery by Resolute Mining is based on conceptual models and targets for vertically zoned epithermal and breccia gold systems very similar to those developed by Liontown for the Mount Windsor Volcanics Project and is a strong validation of the Company's strategy.

Placement to Regent
Venturex Resources Limited (Venturex or the Company) is pleased to announce that it has today placed 80,297,503 ordinary shares (Tranche 1) with Regent Pacific Group Limited (Regent) at $0.09 per share as announced to the ASX on 23 March 2010 (Announcement).
The Board welcomes Regent as a substantial Shareholder holding approximately 13% of the Company’s capital.
The funds raised from this placement ($7,226,775) will be used to expedite Venturex’s stated strategy of transforming the Whim Creek Project into a scaled central processing hub for the Company’s known and future Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) deposits in the Western Pilbara.
The Company will seek Shareholder approval at a General Meeting of Shareholders to issue Tranche 2 of shares to Regent referred to in the above Announcement.
Update on Exploration Activities
Venturex has recently commenced a program of RC and diamond drilling at Whim Creek, Salt Creek and Liberty‐Indee focused on the definition and expansion of high grade Cu‐Zn‐Pb‐Ag‐Au massive sulphide resources. Initial drilling at Whim Creek has intersected zones of sulphide mineralisation that are visually consistent with previous drillhole intersections reported in the Company’s announcement dated 25 January 2010. Full assay results are expected in the near future.
The Company is also exploring for new VMS targets in the region and has identified several untested gossans with visible malachite (copper carbonate) mineralisation. First pass drilling of these new targets will commence after completion of heritage surveys.
Opportunities to acquire additional VMS projects in the Pilbara Region are under consideration.

WALL STREET
Upbeat forecasts from JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Intel Corp. propelled the stock market higher for a fifth day.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index topped the 1,200 mark Wednesday for the first time in a year and a half. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 104 points and moved above 11,100.
The good news came from all directions: Corporate earnings numbers and government reports on retail sales and regional economic conditions indicated that the recovery is taking hold.
A Commerce Department report that retail sales rose more than expected in March added to a sense that consumers are feeling more comfortable spending.
Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke told Congress' Joint Economic Committee that the recovery should hold but that high budget deficits must be addressed to avoid big jumps in interest rates. Bernanke cautioned that unemployment will remain an obstacle.
About three stocks rose for every one that fell on the New York Stock Exchange, where volume came to 1.1 billion shares, in line with Tuesday.
The Russell 2000 index of smaller companies rose 15.37, or 2.2 percent, to 722.40.
Oil prices jumped more than 2 percent Wednesday after the government unexpectedly reported the first weekly decline in crude supplies in more than two months.
Copper rose for the second straight day as the dollar slumped and on signs that the economy is reviving in the U.S., the world’s second-largest consumer.
Fresh speculative buying interest after weaker price action Tuesday pushed Comex gold futures higher Wednesday. A lower U.S. dollar index and sharply higher crude oil futures prices also supported the gold market bulls Wednesday. June Comex gold closed up $6.20 an ounce at $1,159.60.
Britain's FTSE 100 gained 0.6 percent, Germany's DAX index rose 0.8 percent, and France's CAC-40 rose 0.6 percent. Japan's Nikkei stock average rose 0.4 percent.

BEACH PETROLEUM
Beach expands unconventional gas portfolio
Beach Energy Limited (Beach) has conditionally agreed the terms of a farmin agreement with Lakes Oil NL (Lakes Oil) to further examine the gas potential of the onshore Gippsland Basin in Eastern Victoria.
Subject to completion of documentation and regulatory approval Beach can earn up to a 50% interest in the PRL 2 lease area and associated joint operating agreement from Lakes Oil, as follows:
In phase 1 Beach can earn up to an initial 15% of PRL 2 by funding 100% of the cost of fracturing, post-fracturing testing and subsequent flow testing, both of the Wombat-4 and Boundary Creek-2 wells, up to a cumulative maximum cost of $10 million.
In phase 2 Beach can, at its option, earn up to a further 35% of PRL 2 by funding additional appraisal and development activities within PRL 2, up to a maximum cost of $40 million.
Beach will be operator of both phases of the program.
The agreement provides Beach with an opportunity to test unconventional reservoir petroleum production and development technology developed in the US in recent years.
Beach already holds a major land position in unconventional gas (including shale gas) in the Cooper Basin.
Beach's Managing Director, Reg Nelson, said, "We expect that Beach's activities in shale and other unconventional opportunities in Australia will step up significantly, with an accelerated program now being considered for the Cooper Basin and this significant program in the onshore Gippsland, close to markets in Victoria. - Web Site

CASTLE MINERALS
Extensive Gold Anomalism Identified on Wa Project
11 regional scale gold anomalies identified with aggregate strike length of >60km including;
- 2km wide +100ppb gold anomalous zone south of Batie West structure
- 10km long anomaly flanking margin of internal granite
- multiple anomalies within Wa Lawra greenstone belt rocks
Regional scale first pass soil sampling was conducted on traverses spaced between one and five kilometres apart. The sample lines were oriented east-west targeting both the Wa-Lawra and Bolgatanga greenstone belts and the extension to the Batie West shear zone.
Of particular significance is
- a 2km wide zone of anomalous soils reporting above 100ppb gold. This anomaly is situated immediately south of the interpreted extension to the Batie West shear zone on the southern margin of an intrusive granite. The Batie West shear zone is related to gold mineralisation at Ampella's (ASX:AMX) 1.2 million ounce Konkera gold deposit in Burkina Faso 50km to the north west.
- a 10km long anomaly interpreted to overlie the eastern margin of an internal granite at the interpreted intersection with the Batie West structure.
- a continuous 20km long anomaly defined in the central southern portion of the project area and extends south to the historic artisanal Jantigi gold workings 15km east of the town of Bole.
- a 5km and 3km long anomaly on the east side of the project along strike from historic gold mineralisation at Senyon 20km to the SW. - Web Site

ACTIVEX
FARMIN TO MT AGATE PROJECT, CLONCURRY DISTRICT
ActivEX (ASX:AIV) is pleased to announce that it has reached agreement with Carpentaria Exploration Limited (ASX:CAP) to farmin to the Mt Agate Project - EPM 14955. The Exploration Permit lies adjacent to ActivEX Limited’s Florence Creek - EPM 15825, fifty kilometres south of Cloncurry, NW Queensland.
Farmin Agreement
ActivEX Limited has agreed to farmin to the Mt Agate Project area and can earn up to 100% interest in the project. In the first stage of the farmin, ActivEX can earn 75% interest in the tenement by spending $750,000 over the next five years. At this point Carpentaria can elect to contribute on a pro-rata basis. If Carpentaria elects not to contribute, then ActivEX can increase its interest in the tenement to 100% by spending a further $500,000 at which stage Carpentaria will retain a 1.5% net smelter return royalty interest in respect of any production from the area.
ActivEX has committed to a minimum of $100,000 of exploration expenditure.
Mt Agate Project
The Mt Agate Project consists of Exploration Permit for Minerals (EPM) 14955, located southwest of the Company’s Florence Creek Exploration Permit south of Cloncurry. EPM 14955 currently covers an area of 208km2, principally underlain by Wimberu Granite, volcanics of the Argylla and Marraba Formation and meta-sediments of the Mitakoodi Quartzite and Answer Slate.
The principal prospects in the area are at Mt Sheila, QMH Prospect, Sterling, Mt Devoncourt and Saddle Ridge. At Mt Sheila and QMH, which are significant aeromagnetic anomalies, Carpentaria has carried out ground magnetic and IP surveys, identifying potential shallow drill targets with coincident magnetic and IP anomalies defined at both prospects. Other aeromagnetic anomalies in the area are yet to be evaluated.
Previous limited drilling by MIM at QMH and Mt Devoncourt has identified low grade copper mineralisation. - Web Site

CASPIAN OIL & GAS
Caspian discovers attractive exploration targets
Following the resumption of operatorship of the Company’s Kyrgyz assets, Caspian Oil & Gas Limited has identified a total of 25 prospects and leads with Prospective Resources totalling 242 million barrels (mmbbl).
The opportunities range up to 55mmbbl mean Prospective Resource (unrisked) and an average of around 10mmbbl across the portfolio. In addition, the Company has identified several attractive gas prospects.
Armed with these opportunities, the Company is now looking to farm out an interest in over 7,000 sq km of prospective ground in the Fergana Basin. Several companies have signed confidentiality agreements which allow them to receive proprietary data to evaluate the opportunity.
Caspian Chief Executive Officer Graeme Parsons said the blocks were extremely prospective.
“A number of good opportunities have come out of our recent work. For example the West Mailisu 3 lead, which is 100% Caspian owned, has the potential for up to 25bcf gas as well as 10mmbbls of oil,” he said.
“To evaluate its potential we have contracted Kyrgyzgeophysika, a local geophysical company, to record additional seismic over the lead commencing in May 2010 with the view to drilling the prospect later in the year if the extra seismic confirms structural closure.”
The West Mailisu 3 lead lies about 4.5km south of the Kyzyl Alma Gas field which produced some 12bcf from early Jurassic sands as well as oil from the Eocene carbonates. The West Mailisu 3 structure, only revealed by the 2009 seismic programme, looks very similar to Kyzyl Alma.- Web Site

WALL STREET
The Dow Jones industrial average extended its push past 11,000 Tuesday after expectations grew that stronger corporate earnings would signal that a recovery is on track.
Stocks fell in early trading after quarterly results from aluminum producer Alcoa Inc. missed expectations. Major indexes later poked higher as traders jockeyed for position ahead of earnings from leading chipmaker Intel Corp., which reported strong results after the closing bell.
Advancing stocks narrowly outpaced those that fell on the New York Stock Exchange, where consolidatd volume came to 5.4 billion shares, compared with 4.6 billion Monday.
Oil dropped for a fifth day after Alcoa's results lowered expectations about the pace of a rebound. Light, sweet crude fell 33 cents to $84.01 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
The Chicago Board Options Exchange's Volatility Index, which is known as the market's fear gauge, rose 4 percent a day after closing at its lowest level since July 2007.
Copper consumption in China, the world's largest consumer of the metal used in appliances and automobiles, may gain 14 percent this year as the economy extends a recovery, according to CRU International Ltd. Consumption reached 5.94 million metric tons in 2009, expanding by more than 20 percent, Grace Qu, a consultant in Beijing at the London-based research and forecasting company, said in an interview.
Comex gold futures prices ended modestly lower Tuesday and near mid-range. Profit-taking pressure from recent solid gains was featured, and no near-term chart damage was inflicted. June Comex gold closed down $8.80 an ounce at $1,153.40.

OZ Minerals - IMX Resources sign copper-gold exploration joint venture in South Australia
OZ Minerals Limited (OZL:ASX) and IMX Resources Limited (IXR:ASX) have now signed an Exploration Joint Venture Agreement to form a joint venture to explore for, and facilitate the development of, copper-gold projects on IMX's Mt Woods tenements in South Australia. An exploration program is scheduled to commence immediately. The Agreement gives effect to the Heads of Agreement announced on 30 November 2009, and is essentially on the same terms and conditions as the Heads of Agreement. The implementation of the Joint Venture Agreement is subject to the consent of the South Australian Minister for Mineral Resources Development.
IMX's Mt Woods tenements are largely contiguous with OZ Minerals' tenements which contain the Prominent Hill copper mine in South Australia. The area surrounding Prominent Hill, including the joint venture tenements, is considered by OZ Minerals to be highly prospective for the discovery of similar types of deposits under thin cover, and as such, is OZ Minerals’ highest exploration priority. - Web Site

Grande Cote Update
Mineral Deposits Limited (ASX: MDL, TSX: MDM) is pleased to announce that the independently compiled Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for the Grande Côte Mineral Sands Project in Senegal will be completed in May. The additional time to conclude the study is due to final project optimisation work. The anticipated total cost of the Project is now in the order of US$400 million (including contingencies), reflecting the increased scope and current pricing of all new equipment. The economics of this fully permitted Project (a Mining Concession with environmental approval has been granted) remain highly robust.
On account of the size of the Grande Côte Project and ongoing development potential at the company's Sabodala gold mine, the Board of MDL has concluded that the interests of shareholders will best be met by spinning out the Grande Côte Project and financing it external to MDL through a separate IPO. The Board has mandated management to appoint advisers to advance this key initiative. - Web Site

AURORA OIL & GAS
SUGARLOAF AND LONGHORN AMI OPERATIONS UPDATE
Aurora Oil & Gas ("Aurora") is pleased to provide the following update to the market on operations within the Sugarkane Gas & Condensate Field, Texas.
Sugarloaf AMI
Easley #1H – Aurora has been advised by the Operator, Hilcorp, that the rig up of the fracture stimulation equipment has commenced for the planned Easley #1H well fracture operations. It is expected to take approximately two weeks to stimulate approximately 3,000 ft of horizontal liner in a number of stages. The fracture stimulation design is similar to that recently successfully applied to the Kennedy #1H and Weston #1H wells. The well will be flowed to sales during cleanup.
Morgan #1H – The well was drilled to a Total Depth of 17,015 ft and production casing has been run and cemented across approximately 5,000 ft of reservoir section. This well is to be fracture stimulated soon after the completion of fracture stimulation operations on the Easley #1H well.
Rancho Grande #1H – This well was spudded on 25 March 2010 and as at 12 April had been drilled to a Total Depth of 16,957 ft. The length of the horizontal lateral drilled within the target reservoir is approximately 5,000 ft. The forward plan is to run and cement casing in the well followed by fracture stimulation in due course. As per the other Sugarloaf AMI wells, Rancho Grande #1H will be cleaned up and produced directly into sales upon conclusion of that operation.
Longhorn AMI
Turnbull #1H - This well was spudded on 1st April and to date has been drilled to a total depth of 13,535 ft. The well path has built angle and is currently drilling along the horizontal section within the reservoir.
The Turnbull #1H well is the first of three horizontal farmin wells to be drilled by Hilcorp within the Longhorn AMI acreage. Aurora is the only Australian ASX listed participant in the Longhorn AMI and holds a pre-farmout working interest of 50% in approximately 24,000 gross acres.

WALL STREET
Dow ends above 11,000 for first time in 18 months
Stocks climb after Greece loan agreement curbs default fears and the latest round of corporate dealmaking in the US signaled that business leaders are more confident about a recovery.
The Dow Jones industrial average has closed above 11,000 for the first time in a year and a half on investors' rising hopes about the economy.
The Dow edged up about 9 points Monday to almost 11,006. The Standard & Poor's 500 index came within a point of hitting its own milestone of 1,200 during trading but closed just short of that mark.
Three stocks rose for every two that fell on the New York Stock Exchange, where volume came to 974.9 million shares, compared with 1 billion Friday.
The US federal budget deficit for March showed a dramatic decline Monday because of a much lower estimate by the Obama administration of how much the financial bailout program will ultimately cost. The Treasury Department said the March deficit totaled $65.4 billion. That compares with a $191.6 billion deficit a year ago. But $115 billion of the improvement was due to the administration's lower estimate of the cost of the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
Crude oil for May delivery slipped 58 cents to settle at $84.34 a barrel. Prices had fallen as much as 84 cents during the day amid skepticism over Greece's bailout plan.
U.S. copper futures erased an earlier rally to 20-month highs to close lower on Monday, as momentum waned near the top of the range as currency-related support faded, while surprisingly strong Chinese import data limited the decline.
Comex gold futures prices ended slightly higher Monday and nearer the session low after prices notched a fresh four-month high early on. June gold closed up $0.30 an ounce, at $1,162.20. Early gains were pared on some profit-taking pressure from recent solid gains.
Iron ore imports by China, the world's biggest buyer of the raw material, rose for a second month on increasing demand from steelmakers. Imports jumped to 59.01 million metric tons last month (up from 49.38 million in February), the Beijing-based customs office said today on its Web site.
Exports of steel products were 3.33 million tons in March, customs said. Total exports in first three months jumped 70 percent to 8.71 million tons, it said.

New Nyrstar Proposal
After market close on 9 April 2010 the Company received a new proposal from Nyrstar NV ("Nyrstar"), which could lead to a takeover offer for the Company being made at 19.5 cents per CBH share and $1000 per CBHGA convertible note. A copy of the Nyrstar proposal dated 9 April 2010 is attached.
The new proposal from Nyrstar is subject to certain preconditions, including a request to complete limited scope, confirmatory due diligence. The Directors of CBH independent of Toho ("Independent Committee") have approved Nyrstar's request to undertake such due diligence and this process has now commenced.
The conditions foreshadowed by Nyrstar in any takeover bid include that the resolutions to be considered by the meeting of CBH shareholders scheduled for 28 April 2010 be not approved or be withdrawn prior to the meeting. At this point the arrangements for this meeting will remain in place, however shareholders will be notified of any changes beforehand.
Pending further advice from the Independent Committee, shareholders should take no action.- Web Site

OCEANAGOLD
OceanaGold announces Extensions to Mineralization at Reefton Mine in New Zealand:
OceanaGold Corporation (ASX: OGC, TSX: OGC, NZX: OGC) announces that results from the first phase of a brownfields exploration program have identified a number of extensions to the gold mineralization at the General Gordon, Souvenir and Empress deposits at the Reefton gold mine in New Zealand.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Drilling programs have identified mineralized extensions at Souvenir and General Gordon deposits which are likely to result in increased reserves and pit expansions. Follow up drilling at these identified areas is already underway.
- Mineralized extensions were also intersected at the Empress 1 deposit with further work planned to examine potential underground mining opportunities.
- Following intensive mapping and geochemical sampling programs, six additional highly prospective near mine targets have been identified along the mineral trend. A drilling program focused on these targets has commenced. - Web Site

CONQUEST MINING
Conquest Receives Encouraging Metallurgical Results
The Board of Conquest Mining (ASX: CQT) is pleased to announce that the Company has received encouraging metallurgical results from recent flotation testwork at its Silver Hill project in northern Queensland.
The aim of the testwork was to determine whether a single "mixed" concentrate could be produced rather than the previously envisaged two-stream approach of producing a high-grade concentrate for sale and a lower-grade concentrate stored on site for potential, but not yet determined, later-stage processing.
Highlights of these results are:
- Recovery of 90% for gold, 91% for silver and 96% for copper. These results compare to the Definitive Feasibility Study (“DFS”) estimates of 70% for gold, 64% for silver and 91% for copper.
- The recoveries translated into a concentrate grade of 46 g/t Au, 346 g/t Ag, 6.2% Cu and 2.16% As. These grades are not materially different to the high-grade concentrate produced in the DFS.
- The mass pull ratio was approximately 9%. - Web Site

Karara Road Haulage Agreement
Gindalbie Metals Limited (ASX: GBG) is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement for the provision of long-term bulk rail haulage services for its Karara Iron Ore Project in Western Australia by QR Freight (“QRF”), the group national bulk freight haulage business for QR Limited.
Under the Rail Operations Heads of Agreement ("HOA") - which has been signed by the Joint Venture Company Karara Mining Limited ("KML") - QRF has been appointed as the exclusive provider of rail operations for the initial tonnages of magnetite concentrate (8Mtpa) and Direct Shipping Ore (up to 3Mtpa) to be produced by the Karara Project.
The HOA represents a key step towards finalising a separate Rail Haulage Agreement with QRF which is expected to last 10 years. This long-term agreement will have options for future growth and expansion tonnages to accommodate the potential growth of the Karara Project to a production capacity of 30Mtpa.
